S22 not connecting for car Bluetooth calls

I updated my S10 in early January 2022, it would no longer connect to my Toyota Camry for Bluetooth phone calls. I just upgraded to an S22 and the issue continues. 

I followed recommendations on this site and Reset All Settings and Reset Network Settings. The issue continues,

The phone connects for a brief time and then disconnects, Intermittently I am getting Google Stops Working Error.

I'm at my wits end, please help.

None of the cables I have acquired from Samsung have ever worked right.
Sometimes, AA would load but as soon as the phone was bumped, AA would disconnect.
The cable needs to be really short.

I used the same cable with my s20+ and my husbands phone it is thr s22 ultra that is the problem

I have a Pioneer AVH-Z5090BT and I have the same  issue - no google maps.

The music does play & the display says "Android Auto" but otherwise the screen is blank.   Not able to receive calls either as the phone related buttons do not show up.

I am on 8.36 on the head unit & Android 12, updated on Saturday.

Other phones, including a Samsung (A50), on Android 11 work fine. 

At the moment, it is worse than useless as I am unable to just use bluetooth connectivity for audio & the phone itself for navigation.  

BTW, the S22 connects fine with the newer Pioneer DMH-ZS9350BT. So the issue might be with backward compatibility rather than just a S22 or Pioneer issue

S22+ and I have a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX and it has the same symptoms. no display. same phone and cables work on other vehicles, but i have tried multiple cables. this same head unit and cables worked with my S20+. i just got off the phone with Pioneer and they said it's a phone issue and samsung has been aware of it for a month.

Same here. Not a cable issue other devices work fine. Full factory reset on head unit as well.

S22 Ultra, Pioneer AVH-2550NEX.

My head unit is one behind on firmware which I will update but I doubt that will matter based on what I am reading everywhere.

Just got the S22 and Android Auto will not connect.   Is anyone else having this issue?  I have tried several times with different cords to no avail.
