The version of Samsung Notes that is on my up-to-date Galaxy S22 Ultra with Android 14 and OneUI 6.0 is exhibiting the following unacceptable behavior.

Unacceptable behavior

1. I have a note with two bitmap images on the canvas, call them A and B.
2. I want to put A on top of B.
3. When I select A and drag it on top of B, when I release the drag, A snaps to the opposite side of B.

Desired behavior

In step 3, when I release the drag, A stays where I left it, and I can further manipulate A in relation to B.

This capability is essential to Notes. How do I re-enable it?

Great news! The support team fixed my problem, but it was a case of PEBKAC. It turns out each image has an attribute called "anchor to text". This attribute must be disabled for both of the images to allow for dragging one on top of the other.

When I set "anchor to text" off for both images, I can drag one on top of the other.

How do you set the value of "anchor to text", you ask? Select the image. In the context menu, there is an option, "Anchor to text".

Thanks Samsung!
