When i turn on the gesture mode of navigation bar, sliding from the side is supposed to do the same thing as the back button, but it absolutely never works, no matter what app I am on. I got the 6.1 update just now. Does anyone know how to fix it? I tried the good lock NavStar app, it did not help.

Hey there! I can definitely understand wanting your back gesture to work as it was designed to!

Have you tried clearing the cache of the device? You can do that by following the below steps.

With the device off, press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
When the device turns on and logo displays, release both keys.
Use the Volume keys to highlight wipe cache partition, then press the Power key.
Continue using the Volume and Power keys to confirm your choice if prompted.

If after that it is still not working correctly I would back up the information on the device and do a factory data reset just in case something needs to be reset in the device making it act up.

Navigate to and open Settings, and then tap General management.
Swipe to and tap Reset, then tap Factory data reset, and then review the information.
When you're ready, swipe to and tap Reset.
If you have a security lock set, you will be asked to enter the credentials.

You can also submit an error report by going to the Samsung Members app > Get help > Send feedback > Error reports.

I hope this helps!

In the NavStar module, you change the sensitivity level of the back gesture.

Strange, I've been using those gestures for years and they work fine for me. Does it not register the swipe at all? Or is it opening other parts of the app?
Maybe you are not quite getting close enough to the edge of the screen?

The gestrure area is set at maximum. It is as if there is no button there at all. It never works.

No there's no button, you just have to swipe from the very edge of the screen
