The new Smart Select so bad I'm buying an iPhone

I just want to vent about how horrible this AI nonsense is. Instead of working well and quickly, I have to wait 2-3 seconds for it to shimmer at me like a Twilight vampire before I can sort of select what I want and then carefully try to change the boundaries and hope it works (which it never does). It's such an infuriating experience that after more than a decade of buying Samsung phones, I'm done. This is the moment I see the emperor hasn't had clothes for a while. Why give up my ability to join Raya when the UX is just rapidly degrading into the same AI "powered" nonsense as everything else?

I see it says u have the s22 and I've heard those are the only models having problems from what I've seen and heard. My opinion is just get one of the newer models and things should be all working again. If u do switch to iPhone I ain't gon be mad but if u do hopefully sum would change ur mind later lol. (FYI I have the regular s21 and it's still running strong)

Anything running the newest OneUI has the new Smart Select that sucks.

You could always downgrade to the A series and not have to deal with the AI.

Just FYI, the A series are good phones, perhaps not as sleek as the S series, but at least they don't have the AI froufrou.

Obviously, it is your prerogative to move on to Apple, and being in the same ecosystem as your family is as valid as any reason, but with the advent of RCS, group chats between iPhone and Android users became easier. I, for one, never had an issue with communication between iPhone users. There are also other brands of Android phones, it's not just a choice between Apple or Samsung. But, this is not an airport, no need to announce your departure, just go. Live long and prosper.

I'm only announcing because I want Samsung to know that this is a thing that can happen. I'm a minor celebrity (D-list at best, let's not be delusional) and have a lot of influence, so I could make it a bigger deal, but I just want them to see that long time users who have had incentives to leave for a while are finding this so vexing as to consider this the last straw.

It's more that the advantages of sticking with Android (and specifically Samsung) are vanishing, and this is the last straw. We had swappable batteries, SD card slots, and headphone jacks longer, and we used to have significantly better cameras and USB-C. Now there is little difference in features except the disadvantages of not being able to be on Raya, being judged for green texts, and not being in family group chats I'd prefer to be in. Having this major downgrade made it click that there's really no advantage anymore. I used Smart Select constantly to share information easily with my local community, and without it, there's no real reason to stay away from Apple.

If you think Samsung's AI is bad, oh boy... Apple's AI is a million times worse! Samsung has nailed their AI, though I do wish the Photo Assist/Photo Generator was faster.
