Most people do not come into this screen with the intention of searching.  For me it would be annoying to see this search box come up when I can see exactly where I need to go without searching, and the keyboard would take up part of the screen.  The keyboard shows up when you click on the search box, as it is NOW ready for you to type, this is true of any text entry box on your device, it will not bring up a keyboard until your "focus" is in a text entry field.

Keep in mind that when Samsung created the phone (S23), and Google created the Operating system (Android 14), that Samsung then created a shell for (OneUI 6.1), they were not exclusively thinking about what YOU want, but instead, the way they thought would be most universally accepted.

Thank you for your response.
For your informations, I use the home screen only
Without the apps screen
So, if you stop the apps drawer
And all your apps become on the home screen
you can swip the screen to enter the search menu directly
That's why it is called
search from home
