They want everyone to convert to Google Messenger and not use the regular messenger anymore. BUT I HAVE PURCHASED TOO MANY THEMES OVERTIME. AND GOOGLE MESSENGER DOES NOT DISPLAY THE color of the THEME IN THE GOOGLE MESSENGER:double_exclamation_mark: so technically if you use Google Messenger you wasted a lot of money purchasing themes from the Google store.. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP AND MAYBE I WILL SWITCH OVER TO GOOGLE MESSENGER :double_exclamation_mark::double_exclamation_mark::double_exclamation_mark::double_exclamation_mark:

RCS is a group initiative, spearheaded by Google, that carriers must adopt if they wish to provide RCS texting on other third-party texting apps.

Samsung Messages DOES have RCS texting IF your carrier supports it.

(Verizon has announced, that beginning next year, that they will no longer support RCS.)

Since Samsung can't force all carriers to adopt RCS, it appears that they're backing away from Samsung Messages since Google Messages is RCS on Android phones, regardless of your carrier's supporting RCS or not.

Verizon DID NOT say they are not supporting RCS in Samsung Messages.  They sent a message stating that SAMSUNG, themselves, was removing RCS functionality from their messaging app.

Don't point me to that nonsense. Just because other carriers have not sent a message does not mean this isn't Samsung's decision. I read the message from Verizon and the language was VERY clear: Samsung will not be supporting RCS in their app after 1.6.2025. i believe the reason Verizon sent out the message is because last month they killed their own messaging app and many of their users went to Samsung messages.so, in a rare momen of doing a good deed, they got ahead of it. Probably because they didn't want 1000s of users complaining about RCS not working--didn't want to field the tech support calls.

I hope samsung maintains the messages app. Google messagea is trash. Half of the time most of the features aren't available
