Lately when I do voice to text, if I try to insert a question mark (?) or a period (.), instead of the actual emojis being inserted into the text, the words "question mark" and "period" are inserted into the text.

It's typical, halfway Samsung software. Perhaps not surprisingly in order to use the Google Voice input, as soon as you select it the microphone on the Samsung keyboard disappears and is replaced with a keyboard symbol which requires at least one extra step to then go to Google voice. There's really no excuse for this, considering how many years voice input has been available and around. It is just Samsung again wanting your money but not willing to refine their product. Maybe they should hire some people from Apple or Google to help them.

Samsung  Fold 6 only allows Samsung Voice when using Samsung keyboard.  So I have to choose between a keyboard that supports voice punctuation or one that supports AI.

I had to turn off Samsung Voice Input to get voice generated punctuation to work again.

Got there through "Keyboard List and Default"

What did you use instead because Google doesn't work well anymore with it either

I have tried the Samsung Keyboard and Gboard and for some reason the period doesn't work I have to back up each time and hit it twice . Like that

Yeah, Samsung voice to text really sucks since they did an upgrade in 23 and Google Voice does not work well with it either. Half the time it doesn't even record.

Do you have an older phone? Older models like the S10 series do not have this option.

Same here full stop it is really annoying. The **bleep** out of me and then it adds punctuation, where it's not supposed to be and completely is, gonna get my phone thrown out the window in about 5 seconds because I'm obviously using it right now, so let me try to use the word U hold on. You're going to have a good night. Oh, wow, it got it that time, okay.
Until your doctor views on conditionable high blood pressure before taking it. Don't take restroom. For described first 3 medium resources flourishment and hosting the world.... ok it also writes down everything. It hears from the tv now.Because apparently there's no such thing as voice recognition anymore
