I am extremely frustrated, disappointed, and upset at Samsung. I've been a long time Samsung user, but this issue has me seriously considering going a different route. After a recent software update, my phone randomly turned off and would not turn back on! The phone had no signs of physical damage and no prior issues. The phone is in pristine condition. The phone is BARELY over a year old, but it's over a year, so it's out of warranty. I contacted Samsung and was told that since it's a software issue, the repairs would be covered even though it was out of warranty, so I sent my phone in.  A few days later, I received an email stating the repairs are going to cost $583!! I went through all of the troubleshooting options before sending my phone in but nothing worked.

1) Why should I be responsible for paying for an issue that Samsung caused out of my pocket??? Nothing I did caused my phone to all of a sudden turn off and not turn back on.

2) Why waste my time by telling me that the repairs would be covered only to turn around and tell me they aren't! I have insurance on my phone through AT&T, but I'm still stuck paying a $225 deductible to replace my phone.

3) How in the world do the repairs cost half of the original price of the phone!

I'm seeing numerous complaints about this, so why hasn't Samsung issued a statement about it and agreed to fix the issue?

Did they give you any indication of what the repair process consisted of?

Try this, hold power and volume down simultaneously to see if it will power on.
