The screen detects the S Pen when it is approx 20mm away, how can I disable this? I just want the S Pen to work when it makes contact with the screen.

The app I'm using is Trading View and before the Pen contacts the screen a crosshair is brought up and this can be moved around while the tip of the Pen is in mid-air. I just want this crosshair to appear (and be moved) when the tio of the Pen touches the screen.

This was the main reason I got the phone so it's really frustrating me and I can't find anything to help in the phones settings.

Thanks a lot.

While you could use it on your S23, there's no guarantee that the screen will detect the touches from a non-Samsung branded stylus.  The functionality could potentially be very limited.

Disable air view under settings>advanced>S-pen, or request to the developers of trading view to fix their app so it properly distinguishes between a touch and air view from the pen. Probably won't happen, so disabling is your best bet.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried that and it still detects the pen when it's hovering over the screen. I've had all the features turned off but it still does it, strange.

I'll try contacting Trading View but I can't see them changing any settings just for me!

@Spencer84 This is just the way the digitizer and S Pen work. If you don't want this, I'm guessing that you can use your finger or a generic stylus (one with a rubber tip) to get the operation that you prefer.

Using the S Pen for other features is great, just a shame that the feature I use the most isn't compatible with the way I want to use it.

...and fingertips are too fat to be accurate!

Thanks for the reply.

Would one of the plain stylus' work as a simple stylus? I have arthritis and need a stylus but I don't need one to second guess what I mean to say.
