I read a lot of complaints about real time translation during the phone calls. My problem is even more fundamental. With the real time translation during phone calls enabled in advanced features settings the call assist button doesn't even show up during the phone calls using the standard phone application. So "tap assist button" makes no sense as there is nothing to tap. Call Verizon technical support and they connected me to the Samsung technical support which was useless. Anybody knows what's going on?

Hello, thanks for reaching out, and I can certainly understand the frustration of the Call Assist not working. Potentially clearing your device's cache partition can help smooth out device functionality. Give these steps a try:
 - Power off your device.
 - While the device is powered off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons.
 - Once the Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Your device should boot into recovery mode.

Using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select:

 - Navigate to "wipe cache partition" and press power.
 - Select yes to confirm.
 - Navigate down to "Repair apps" and press power.

If the device cache clear was not successful, you can check if a third-party application is responsible for this behavior. Give Safe Mode a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

If the behavior persists under Safe Mode, it may be time to give the device a fresh start through a factory reset. Back up everything you wish not to lose, and follow the guide carefully: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the behavior continues even after a factory reset, consider submitting an error report via the Samsung members app. This may not be a US guide, but the steps are the same: https://www.samsung.com/ae/support/mobile-devices/raising-an-error-report-via-samsung-members-app/

In addition, if the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician.
