Experiencing battery drain and phone heating up while on YouTube

Anyone else getting battery drain and the heating up while watching YouTube? It's using around 12% battery per hour and my entire phone is getting warm to the touch. No other app acts like this on my phone. I run high video quality so it's giving me 720p max because Verizon caps it at 720p. Snapdragon version...

Since Verizon limits your video resolution to 720p, you should try using the HD+ 1560 X 720 screen resolution setting to see if it solves your battery and heat problem.

Are you talking about adjusting my screen resolution or my YouTube resolution?

I'm talking about temporarily lowering your screen resolution to HD+ 1560 X 720, then watching some YouTube videos and see if your phone heats up and if its battery lasts longer than you've been experiencing.
