I currently had others around me on a text thread get a message 5 mins before me, but the timestamp say the proper time when it did appear

Please don't hijack someone else's post on a completely different topic. In any case, there might be a slight difference in time for people receiving texts because of network conditions or even just being on different networks. This is normal.
