Phone volume

Phone volume starts off normally loud, but within seconds goes to a whisper.  Whether I am calling out or receiving a call.  Does not respond to volume control.  Just started in the last few days.  Ran the speaker test, result was satisfactory.  Is there a setting I'm not seeing?  Or is this a problem of software?

What happens if you use earbuds or a headphone?

not sure, But I'll see next time. It's an intermittent condition.

You can also run a diagnostic on the speaker. Settings/Device Care/Diagnostics. You can test everything on the phone or just one component.  You can also get to the diagnostics from the members' site home page.  If you are still in your warranty period or have Samsung Care you can put in a ticket.

The diagnostic reported all in good condition.

Try the diagnostic right after the condition occurs if it's intermittent.

Have you rebooted into recovery mode and cleared the cache partition? Does it happen when playing music, or only during calls?
