My wife and I just upgraded yesterday from the Iphone 14 Pro. Her Samsung Messages App isn't receiving messages from me unless she messages first and then it works temporarily. Then after sometime it goes back to her not receiving my messages. It doesn't show delivered on my end either when I send them. We've tried everything and can't find a solution. Anyone know a fix? Thanks.

It sounds like you're encountering a persistent issue with message delivery between your new iPhone 14 Pro and your wife's Samsung device.
You can try this -
  • Carrier Settings: Sometimes carrier-specific settings or network issues can affect message delivery. Contacting your carrier's customer support might provide insights or solutions.

  • Samsung Device Settings: Ensure there are no specific settings on your wife's Samsung device that could be causing message delivery issues, such as message filtering or restrictions.

    • Sometimes resetting iMessage settings can help:
      • Go to Settings > Messages.
      • Toggle off iMessage.
      • Wait a few seconds, then toggle it back on.
      • This action can refresh your iMessage connection and settings.

Also Reset iMessage on your phone.

Hope this helps, please inform if she got the solution after this.

Not cool. I prefer the look and function of the samsung messages app over the Google one even though rcs is not integrated.

I myself would rather the Samsung Messages app. Even though I do use Google messages most of the time. I hate the fact Messages cannot have its own ringtone.

@Jacan sure it can have it's own ring tone.  First you have to enable notification categories. Go to settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for each app. Then go to the messages app settings and tap on categories and choose your ring tone for incoming or new messages.

It sounds like iMessage might still be linked to your phone number. Try these steps:

  1. Deregister iMessage online using Apple's Tool.
  2. Turn off iMessage on your old iPhone, if available (Settings > Messages > iMessage).
  3. Restart both phones after deregistering.
  4. Check for any carrier issues with SMS/MMS messaging.

This should help resolve the problem.
