Samsung Ultra 24, Airtel Sim issues

I am current in USA,using airtel roaming, I wanted to transfer esim from my old phone to Samsung S24 Ultra. The esim transfer process on old phone (S22 Ultra) is successful but I don't see the sim on the new phone (eid is accurate). Restarted phoen,tried with local sim disabled, nothing helped

Airtel support was worse than useless, is there anything on my end to debug the problem

How did you transfer your eSIM? What does your model end in? N, 0, B, U, or U1?

Thank You, the model is 928U. Airtel has an app to transfer, the app on the old phone says process is successful and that I should download esim on the new phone via add sim menu. When I do that new phone says no Sims found

What did you select after Add eSIM? Have you already requested a carrier unlock on your S24?

I pressed add esim and I don't get anything else after that,it says no esims found. This is a fully paid phone ,do I still need carrier unlock
