So I just got the s24 ultra and I don't know what it is but it doesn't feel as smooth and fluid as it should for a 1300 phone. Like scrolling across the home screen pages it has micro stutters or it just doesn't feel like 120hz and opening and closing app drawer the refresh rate goes down or it stutters idk which one. App animations seem okay. Like compared to my pixel 9 pro xl it seems this phone is not nearly as buttery and compared to my iPhone too. Thinking on returning the phone maybe.

OMG lol the thread is hilarious. You guys spend 1200+ mine being almost 1600 for 1 TB and are ok with having to clear cache in recovery for it to run smooth?
Learn ADB, it's literally poor man root. Turn off ram plus permanently.
ADB shell into the phone after shell access is gained, run
"settings put global sem_enhanced_cpu_responsiveness 1" without the quotes

" settings put global restricted_device_performance 0, 0"
Those are just 2 freebies that only need to be set once and they dramatically increase the performance. RAM plus on a phone with 12gb RAM is beyond useless and will hog resources and put apps in the slower ufs fake ram instead of using its real and much faster dedicated RAM.
I have maybe 30-40 custom system, secure and global settings (I work in the industry, so I can't help but tinker) but clearing cache makes no noticable difference to the human eye. Android uses fstrim by default and automatically trims all useless stuff from its partitions including cache, so it's very unnecessary to manually do it.
Just as proof that ADB is the king for people that can't gain system access (root), my S24 Ultra ranks #1 of all stock ROM, locked bootloader S24U's on geekbench. Don't forget to raise the thermal throttling limit in good guardian to its max +30.

Just these 4 simple things will make your phone feel night and day different. If you don't mind spending like $3 or something, get Galaxy Max Hz app, you can precisely control the behavior of the ltpo panel refresh rate as well as a AOD refresh, and a few others. I've bought it for every Samsung since my S21U. It's not necessary, but it helps a lot with responsiveness and battery life.
Oh yeah, I'm not liable for anyone listening to me and performing these commands and messing up their phone. It's almost impossible to get to that point but I know someone will skip the LEARN ADB BASICS part and just copy paste what I wrote.
You can utilize unreleased features as well , cough cough on demand satellite calling or cough sneeze use your actual finger as an s pen you get the pointer and can hover for more info. Oh and in dev options at the bottom almost, turn cached apps freezer to enabled, I can easily keep 15-17 apps open in pure RAM and not have to let it refresh when I come back to it.

Happy not modding, just using tools provided by Google to lift ridiculous limiters off our laughably expensive phones everyone! šŸ™ šŸ˜Š

Posted a similar gripe earlier today, it's been bugging me the past week, idk why but it has. I find myself doing a whole lot of unnecessary swiping when b4 I'd have to press my thumb on the screen to stop it cuz it would scroll too fast!
