I've posted about this before in depth and had my post removed. I'll keep it short and to the point. The USB-C implementation on the S24 Ultra has serious issues. Devices that worked on the S23 Ultra and prior require an external power source, external displays flicker with every text message received. You can route external power into the device simultaneously and its a hit or miss. The only good solution I've found is using a Thunderbolt USB-C hub. It uses a 100W power supply. I should not need this. I get that only so much power can output to connected devices, but why has the behavior degraded so drastically since previous models. I've had the S3, Note 4, Note 5, S7 Edge, Note 8, Note 9, S22 Ultra, and I have never had problems like this. Never disconnected displays from receiving text messages. Used to be able to use Dex in 120hz, not anymore.

So what's the deal? What's the actual problem with this device? There is enough evidence online that a problem exists, but it has not been officially acknowledged. I'm consider migrating to a Xiaomi device at this point, it's just pain in the **bleep** to deal with. Really love the Samsung ecosystem so switching over is not ideal. Are your engineers working on a solution? Do I and many others simply have a bad motherboard on our devices? I purchased the phone around release, was there a bad run?

It's not the USB cache, it's not my cables, it simply seems that this device does not route enough power to external devices, at least not like the older phones did. And it's really disappointing for an otherwise flawless phone.
