It means your carrier does not support Wi-Fi calling. It only shows if your carrier supports it.

Incorrect! I had wifi calling on an older crappy phone with the same carrier, same SIM card, which I recently switched to S24 Ultra. The option does not even show up on the new phone.

Actually @realaud is correct here.  It does not matter if a previous phone that was of a lower quality had it or not, what matters is that your current carrier has your devices exact model number in its table for allowing this, if it is not, then the feature will be disabled and won't appear anywhere on the device, despite the fact that it IS fully compatible.

Exactly. I think many people are assuming that the issue is turning the option on, which would be a carrier issue. When in fact the real issue is Wi-fi calling as well as real time text, video call, and enriched calling do not appear on some software versions of the galaxy s24.

The Wi-Fi Calling feature software comes standard with all Samsung devices.  The Carrier determines if this is allowed to stay, or gets removed.

FWIW, here's what my S24 Ultra shows. I'm on T-Mobile, and yes, it required E911 info. I'd agree it's carrier dependent.Screenshot_20240819_130713_Settings_1000006146_1724087233.pngScreenshot_20240819_130704_Wi-Fi Calling_1000006145_1724087224.png

Update...Verizon sent me a brand new phone at no cost. We worked through all of the possibilities. He put an order in Sunday evening, and I received my phone on Monday. I must say, between Samsung and Verizon, they have been very helpful. My support agent through Verizon suggested I wait to start the process of activating my new phone until Thursday since he has the day off today. 😀
IMO, I could not ask for better service. Many kudos to Verizon.
