Does anyone know how to set the volume up/down buttons to skip/go back a song?
It was one of my favorite things about an Android on my Moto G 5G. I switched to an iPhone 14 and hated not having that option so I decided to upgrade to the S24 Ultra. But so far I have not come across that setting option.
Please tell me there's a way to set that up on my Ultra.
Thank you!

I don't think that's a feature, but it it is, it may be a setting in your music player. Song skipping/tepeating is usually reserved for buds or headphones controls.

It's been a Samsung feature since OneUI was created, and before that, we still had it in Samsung Experience & even TouchWiz era with Root! Mapping hardware buttons to do anything you want was like a core building block or a "staple" for Android since it's infancy. That's why so many people were outraged when they got rid of those horrendous permanent navigation keys that were at the bottom of every single Android phone way back. All that aside, if it's open source, it's doable.
Pro-tip: If you don't know the answer to a question someone is asking, maybe let someone else answer it since replying with "idk" or even worse, misinformation, is of no value to anyone.... Except you if you are going for those medals and fancy labels under your username this app dishes out.

Just Google it next time, you could have given the correct answer like this guy šŸ‘‡šŸ». Then, copypasta here in under 30 seconds šŸ˜‰

Hey, where's the super nice and friendly comment you wrote? Changed your mind ? Too afraid of losing that "honor" badge šŸ¤£ šŸ’€
IDC if you take what I said personally but it's all true and you know it is. So either man up and leave the comments you post instead of posting then deleting immediately so I get the notification but nobody else knows what you wrote. You can't tell me answering with "I don't think that exists " when it has existed since the beginning of Android, is a horrible answer to a person seeking help. Stick to what you know buddy.
Stop giving bad info and ppl won't clown you for it. Simple.

The mods removed it. The sentiment still stands. What, are you in nursery school or something that you have to keep harping on irrelevancies? You, and your thoughts are insignificant to me, and you seem to care more about the silly badges than I do. And, what have you contributed as a solution to the OP's (or anyone's, for that matter) problem, or are you just here to measure gonads?

Download Sound Assistant from Good lock and then turn on "Control music with volume keys".
It only works when your device is locked.Screenshot_20241202_162646_Sound Assistant_1000040435_1733178427.png

Sound Assistant works, Button Mapper also does the trick with the benefit of your device not having to be locked for the double press next track to work
