broken phone missing gallery photos

my husband broke his galaxy 24 phone. I got a replacement but am unable to unlock the broken phone to get his gallery photos transferred to his new phone. All his google photos are there up until mid year last year. I thought all the gallery photos would transfer if you had a samsung account. please advise

If you get a computer mous and a type c adapter you can usually use the mouse to operate the phone and unlock the phone

If your husband had backup enabled in google Photos, then the gallery photos would show up there. He may have also backed the gallery to Microsoft onedrive.

You then would have to sign in online google photos and you would find your pictures there.

@Members_TBVsXbe If you enable OneDrive backup in the Gallery, all the photos will backup to your OneDrive account.

If you enable backup in Google Photos, all of your photos will backup to your Google account. 

But you must enable them.

If he is missing more recent photos in the Google backup, it may be because either the free storage allocation was reached or he turned off the sync at some point. As was suggested, a USB C mouse or USB mouse with an adapter should be able to unlock the phone.
