Howdy!

Received my new S25 Ultra yesterday, set it up via SmartSwitch. Everything transferred correctly but none of my notifications are working.

Zero.

I have gone though forum postings that other people have posted looking for solutions and most of those has been DND or a routine turned on blocking notifications.

Things I've checked:

  • Do Not Disturb is TURNED OFF.
  • No Modes or Routines are running (there aren't any setup).
  • Sound is on.
  • Vibrate is on.
  • No icons or app badges show up on the top.
  • The apps that I am testing with I have confirmed that notifications are turned on.
  • All the options are selected for the notification options (Lock Screen, App icon badge, Notification pop-up).
  • This happens if the phone is sleeping or awake.
  • My old phone is still using Wi-Fi and notifications work fine on that one (other than messages and phone cause that's tied to the SIM). Turning off the old phone and waiting a few minutes and trying on the new phone, same thing happens.
  • If I open the offending app, I can see the unread messages.
Other than wiping the phone, skipping the SmartSwitch and starting from scratch, I am not sure how to move forward.

Thanks.

thats nonsense, i have been using private DNS for 2 years on my old S23, and configured the same address as before, never had issues on my S23

S25 is half baked, if not fixed before return window i'm sending it back

Are you using a private DNS that YOU set, or one that Samsung chose? Cause I will use Google or Cloudfare, but manually set the IPs. But I didn't check this setting when I set the S25 up.

I can't believe this!

The "fix" worked indeed! How could you even think of this as a possible solution? šŸ™‚

I also used dns on my Note10 plus.

nextdns

And when moving it, it copied the configuration.

After disabling private dns I was able to trigger push notifications.

After switch DNS completely off I could set up apps like ING.NL - Bankieren. It didn't work before. Now it works with and without dns.

Holy **bleep** - removing my own private dns allowed me to enable push notifications on several third party apps. Interesting bug! I do hope Samsung fixes this quickly.

Excuse me, I think I had them all enabled, but they were just not coming through.

What do you mean by ā€œenablingā€ push notifications?

If anyone experiencing this issue with gmail only this helped me:

Clearing storage and cache adds a message at the top of the Gmail says "Inbox Sync is off" even though it's turned on everywhere in the settings.
FIX as stated in this thread:

You have to REMOVE THE ACCOUNT and THEN CLEAR CACHE/STORAGE. If you do it in a different order it won't work.

Now notifications for gmail are OK, before I did not get any notification mobile or watch from gmail inbox

Did you check Notification Categories? Check out this thread: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S24/Notification-category/m-p/2948508 . Try also turning On Airplane Mode, which can also reset the notifications.

Yes. That has been covered and they are properly turned on.
