Howdy!

Received my new S25 Ultra yesterday, set it up via SmartSwitch. Everything transferred correctly but none of my notifications are working.

Zero.

I have gone though forum postings that other people have posted looking for solutions and most of those has been DND or a routine turned on blocking notifications.

Things I've checked:

  • Do Not Disturb is TURNED OFF.
  • No Modes or Routines are running (there aren't any setup).
  • Sound is on.
  • Vibrate is on.
  • No icons or app badges show up on the top.
  • The apps that I am testing with I have confirmed that notifications are turned on.
  • All the options are selected for the notification options (Lock Screen, App icon badge, Notification pop-up).
  • This happens if the phone is sleeping or awake.
  • My old phone is still using Wi-Fi and notifications work fine on that one (other than messages and phone cause that's tied to the SIM). Turning off the old phone and waiting a few minutes and trying on the new phone, same thing happens.
  • If I open the offending app, I can see the unread messages.
Other than wiping the phone, skipping the SmartSwitch and starting from scratch, I am not sure how to move forward.

Thanks.

Samsung needs to push out an update immediately this is absolutely rediculus. The most important thing is not working. Receiving Notifications. How is this not over all the news?

For now I'm using "Doze Stopper" from play store.
I have 9 days to return S25U back to Samsung. Awaiting update which fix this issue, if not - goodbye S25!

For notifications not appearing until the phone is unlocked, and then being stamped with the time that you unlocked the phone, the temporary fix here worked for me: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S25/S25-Android-15-Notifications-Appear-Only-After-Unlock...

But it has to be done each time the phone is rebooted. From what I can tell, this is an issue with Android 15 which has not been released to older phones yet. Looks like there have been reports of people with Pixel phones running Android 15 having the same issue.

The S25 Ultra is my first Android/Samsung phone after being an iPhone user ever since the iPhone 3. Love the phone, but for my first Samsung experience having something as fundamental as notifications being broken, it's very disappointing and leaves a bad taste. Had I not found this temporary fix, the phone would be on its way back to Samsung. I expect bugs in all software, but a flagship device should not have such severe issues with essential features like notifications.

Thanks for the useful tip! Setting my apps to both Unrestricted and Never Auto Sleep solved the problem more easily and persistently for me. But I know you mention that that might not work for all apps.

Go into Gmail info/settings, configure in Gmail, select appropriate email, manage labels, make sure sync is on and label notifications is selected for each inbox you want to receive notifications from

I'm having the same issue, but with text messages only. I've reset my phone and did not work.

Hello there is something with the one ui blocking off some notifications automatically. Which built in settings doze off  something like that. There is one guy who posted in reddit to fix this.
