Howdy!
- Do Not Disturb is TURNED OFF.
- No Modes or Routines are running (there aren't any setup).
- Sound is on.
- Vibrate is on.
- No icons or app badges show up on the top.
- The apps that I am testing with I have confirmed that notifications are turned on.
- All the options are selected for the notification options (Lock Screen, App icon badge, Notification pop-up).
- This happens if the phone is sleeping or awake.
- My old phone is still using Wi-Fi and notifications work fine on that one (other than messages and phone cause that's tied to the SIM). Turning off the old phone and waiting a few minutes and trying on the new phone, same thing happens.
- If I open the offending app, I can see the unread messages.

Galaxy S25I have the option to change the notifications sound in Samsung E-mail, Gmail, and outlook. For the notification categories option to appear, you do have to enable it within the phones, Notifications | Advanced settings screen, as mentioned by justtryingtohelp. This is with an S25 Ultra, FYI

Galaxy S25This helped me turn on more details in specific apps. I'm still not seeing a way to individualize sounds for specific apps.

Galaxy S25It was very hard to follow your round and round, no punctuation post, but you did not need to through all that. All you had to do was turn notification categories on. Settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for each app. The go to your messaging app settings, tap on notifications, then tap on categories and make sure allow notifications is turned on, then make sure new messages or incoming messages (depending on which app you are using) is also on, tap that category and select the sound you want. To set a different sound for different conversations, open the conversation you want to change the sound for, tap the menu, select details and then select notifications and choose the sound for that conversation.

Galaxy S25Just want to say that I've kept the handset. I've stopped using Doze Stopper as it doesn't always work.
The adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable command is working perfectly though.
Shame it needs to be done on every reboot, but it is what it is.
Really wish they just out a switch in the settings to disable deviceidle though.
I thought it would kill battery life but I still had 70% battery left after 12 hours of light to moderate usage.

Galaxy S25Guys,
Did anyone try a hard reset and skip the Smart Switch restore afterwards? I remember a couple of users mentioned here that that didn't work, but since then, two firmware updates have arrived...
I am thinking of resetting the phone.

Galaxy S25Hey Dan.
No. I saw that Squeaky369 did so and the issue persisted so I didn't try. See his post from jan 31, he did a factory reset, skipped smartswitch and didnt restore from a backup.
Do let us know if you try it and it works though.

Galaxy S25Thanks, but hmm...
I didn't find his post where he said he actually did a hard reset. He did reset settings and said he was going to go ahead with a factory reset, but then there were no updates.
Am I missing something? 🙂
PS: I found it: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S25/New-S25-Ultra-Notifications-not-working/m-p/3127118/h...
But he has been silent since 11 February, which seems like a good sign 🙂
