GOT THE NEW S25 Ultra in titanium jet-black last Friday evening.

Right away it becomes my sketch pad (it's dreadful to lose bluetooth functionality) but I will survive. Right?

As long as I can listen to my 5000 song collection. I have these really awesome sounding JVC Gumy USB-C earbuds which I've been using since the Note 10 Plus, Note 20 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and now with the current phone.

I've been enjoying my very very long public transit commutes to and from work listening to music and drowning out the hustle, and bustle.

Last night I wanted to post some tiktok content and didn't know where my wired earbuds were!  So I used my not so good sounding bluetooth earbuds. Tiktok hates that they prefer wired, go figure ?  Especially when you're going live, I don't know why?  They kept pestering me with prompts to switch to wired earbuds.

So I ran all around and finally found my wired buds which slipped under my gym bag somehow and not in its dedicated pouch. OK.

So I disconnected bluetooth buds and proceeded to plug my wired buds in.  Suddenly the buds stopped working? I panicked. I did the following to diagnose the situation:

1. Made sure wired charging works. Check!

2. Made sure bluetooth worked. Check!

3. Made sure DEX worked. Check!

4. Made sure memory stick data backup and transfer worked. Check!

5. Plugged wired earbuds into every other phone and devices, laptops and PC to make sure it still works. Check!

Why did my brand new S25 Ultra transmit media audio and calls perfectly since day one, but suddenly not working as intended?

Anyone here wanna try and see if your wired USB C buds work, if you all even use wired buds?  They sound better and with zero latency for me, i keep going back to them.

I just tried a pair of Wired ear buds with several music apps, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and couple news apps, some movie apps. They are working as intended for all sources.

Have you done a diagnostic? If so what was the result?

Do you have any other wired earbuds you can try in the S25U?

I don't have any other buds. I use these usb c wired buds on all devices and all devices work fine. Including Note 10 Plus, Note 20 U and S 24 U. All fine. Not the S25 U.

I ran diagnostics and yep wired earbuds not recognized.

But when I do a restart and hold down all the buttons on the wired buds cable controlls.  It works again.  Is that odd what's going on there ?   It's not damaged nothing is damaged.  It's firmware for me or a bug?

Could be a bad pin on the USB port. Have you had any problems with it not recognizing any charging cables or say a USB-C thumb drive?

One thing you could try prior to setting up an exchange or service is to reset the USB Cache. There is a couple of ways to do this.
1) Open Settings
2)Select Apps
3)Tap the Filter and sort icon
4) Enable Show system apps
5) Select USB Settings
6) Tap Storage
7) Tap Clear cache in the bottom right-hand corner

The other way, is that it is my understanding that clearing the Cache Partition on the phone will also clear the USB Cache among other things.

Thanks for the tips and points.

I mentioned everything I needed to point out about my findings in my previous posts. It's been pretty clear. Everything works and my wired buds work on every possible device I listed and my usb c port is clean and new and every other peripheral works perfectly plugged into my new phone except my wired buds.

When I go into show system settings within apps settings and click storage, I plug my usb c buds in, then I clear cache. Them i go back to USB settings and force stop. Finally, I shut down the phone. With the wired buds still plugged in.  When I power back up, the wired buds work again.

But as soon as I am done and need to change the phone I unplug my buds.  When I'm charged up. I plug buds back in and they dont work.

It's obvious its an internal setting that doesn't seem to stay put?

Something definitely isn't right. If you had an extra pair of wired buds, you could check to see if it does the same with any buds.

Otherwise, the best bet is probably going to be to do an exchange and hope the problem isn't just some weird compatibility issue between the S25 Ultra and those particular buds.

@userN8RXxZ484K Have you tried wiping the cache partition on your S25? This should clear out any wonky settings that are lying around.

Yes, at this point I've been searching everything to do to remedy and nothing sticks.  I have kept the wired buds plugged in and performed all the cache clearing in the USB settings / storage, and shut down, and restarts.

My only solution was to do what my gut tells me, which is to push down all the buttons on the controller attached to the wire for the buds, while the phone boots back up.  That works.

As long as I keep the buds in there, everything works as it had with the phone brand new out of the box for 2 days, before the phone stopped working with the buds.

As soon as I unplug, its back to square one.  It's not physical. It's Samsung.

I thought this was Samsung technical support forum. But there are no actual Samsung reps?  I see a lot of people posting about many problems.  Are our problems being addressed by them?

I think I should give up and take it into an official service centre and have them exchange my phone with a new one.
