I've been an avid Samsung user for many years, and just upgraded from the s24 ultra to the s25 ultra. The s25 is playing the same notification sound for every single app. For example, my WhatsApp, ring doorbell, text messages, Facebook, Gmail, etc all make the same alert sound and there's no way to make the app play their default sounds. I spoke with 2 different Samsung employees on chat and they both told me it was not possible and they have no record of notification issues. So, I proceed to drive to an authorized repair shop and they told me its a Samsung software issue and my best bet is to return the phone until Samsung fixes their issue.

Anyone else having this issue? Any idea when a much needed software update will be released?

Do better Samsung!

I just got my new phone yesterday , when I transfered apps and everything I wanted from old phone and set everything up it seem to work just fine(each app with own sound) until today I changed a setting for a notification and then all of a sudden all notifications are the same. Might have to factory reset and transfer again bc it is driving me nuts all the notifications the same sound haha if find something will update

There is a way to change the notification sound back to your custom sounds. You would need to make sure that the mp3 file is back to the "Notification" folder in "My files". I ran into this issue when I transferred all of my apps and data from S22 Ultra to my S25 Ultra.

This worked for me to change the sound in Messages on my S25 Ultra.

1st make sure this setting is on.

Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Go to the bottom and turn on Manage notification categories for each app.

Settings > Apps > Messages > Notifications > Notification categories > Incoming messages > Sound

I hope this helps.
