Trouble with Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 recently. The battery life has decreased significantly, and it's not syncing properly with the phone. Restarting both devices and updating the software didn't help. The watch also seems to be overheating during charging. Has anyone experienced similar problems or know of any solutions? I'm wondering if this might be a hardware issue that requires service.

Hello JuideSock9999, Welcome to the Community. We understand how upsetting it is for the watch battery to drain quickly, and to be experiencing overheating and not syncing properly.

This article contains several steps for troubleshooting the battery drain: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01003232/

Since the watch is overheating while charging, this could be affecting the sync, as the backups are performed while the watch is not in use. This article contains information for keeping your watch from overheating: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00076952/

You can also try factory resetting the watch. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00084702/

If you continue to experience the concerns with the syncing, battery drain, and overheating, it is recommended to have the watch serviced by an authorized service center. You can use the following link below to request service. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/ or by contacting customer service at 1-800-726-7864.

You can perform a diagnostic on the watch and phone. You can access the diagnostics by using the dupport tab in the Members app or in the phone settings device care/diagnostics.

How often do you restart your watch? Rebooting the watch periodically performs an optimization which may help clear/avoid some of your problems.  You could also reboot into recovery mode and clear the cache partition, that may also solve some of your current issues.
