Galaxy WatchI've had the Galaxy watch for about a day now, and it's only registered 1 floor. I've probably done 25-30. My house floors are more than the 10 feet it says it needs to count a floor. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the hardware, or the software. Is anyone else having an issue?

Galaxy WatchYes, same issue here. It counts the floors in my office builidng, but not the floors at my house. Very frustrating. And Samsung's customer service offered no assistance/empathy/solution.

Galaxy WatchI have had my Galaxy watch for about 19 hours now and have gone up at least 30 flights of stairs. My floor count is still at 0. Seems that this is a systemic problem. Has anyone got a solution? I have a bluetooth watch and a Galaxy S8 phone.

Galaxy WatchI am having the same issue. I just got my Samsung Galaxy watch 42mm, Rosegold, a few days ago. It is connected to my Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone. So far, a couple days ago it showed 1 floor , nothing since. I have 10 steps to my lower level, it is not showing the several times a day that I go up and down them. I am going to try the clear cache suggestion to see if that helps any. I hope Samsung is reading these posts and has a resolution soon. The steps are not reflecting all of my steps either. I am considering returning it and going back to my Fitbit Versa.

Galaxy WatchSame. Not counting floors. Also, text messages are delayed quite often. Sending text messages from my phone when watch is connected, more often than not, fails to send text. I'm quite disappointed in my purchase. I wanted to be able to not always have the phone on me, but I cant trust the watch to ring when a call or text comes in.

Galaxy WatchCan I please get your full model number, baseband version, Bluetooth or LTE, the device your watch is paired with as well as the Android version on the device?

Dozens and dozens of people have answered this question in the last year (in all of the various threads about this issue) and I have yet to see a Mod come back with any meaningful response to them.
Spoiler alert: *Nothing* about the phone manufacturer, model, baseband version, Android version, or any other specification of the phone matters. It is the *watches* that can't count floors properly.

Galaxy WatchI have the gear sport, had this problem since new, a year now. What has worked better for me. Go-to to the altimeter app, settings, set it to manual. Get a altitude app on your phone, go outside, and manually set the altitude on the watch, based on phone lock. This seems to help, at least for a day. Please see if this helps. Since they won't run any freaking diagnostics, or give any feed back from I'll let the engineers know there's an issue, let's run a few studies, maybe catch some interest on where the issue may reside. I still feel this is a software issue.
Today I'm 4 for 4 after locking. Locked it yesterday, went 5 for 5, but missed the 2nd time this morning, after recall again though it worked. Also turned on GPS.
Thoughts?

Galaxy WatchI've had my watch for about 2 weeks now. My software is updated to the latest available update. I had the same issue with stair count. Went to settings, connections, location. Turned it on and set methods to gps and wireless. The step counter seems more accurate now and it counted the stairs with a walking start. I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days

Galaxy WatchI just watched a video on you tube that works. Make sure you only use a watch face that doesn't show steps on it. I picked an analog face and my stairs registered.

Galaxy WatchAs suggested here, I changed the watch screen (but for another one which also has the floor counter). When trying out, I noticed that it's actually counting the floors, but only if I raise the arms up when reaching the top of the stairs. I'd suggest Samsung to change the height of floor counting to 2.5 m instead of 3 m. Now adays, most of the buildings do not have anymore floors 3m. High.
EDITED
I've calibrated the altimeter, and activated the Aut.Adjust on the altimeter. I've also turned on the GPS, so the watch can compare correctly the Atm.Pressure with the local one. Hope it works with you, let me know!
Best regards!
