Google Calender Reminders are not synced to watch

I have a non samsung phone.   Calendar events are synced to my watch just fine, but Reminders are not.  Is this intentional?  It would be awesome if reminders were also synced as they are more useful than using on watch reminders which do not have flexibility about how often they are repeated.

@pellcorp Reminders notify when using a Samsung phone. It looks like this isn't supported on Non-Samsung phones.

I found a solution.   There is a new early access app called Wear Reminder 2

It works a treat.

Now that google assistant is coming to watch 4, I wonder if there will be a more official solution for google calendar / GA reminders.

Certainly Wear Reminder 2 works for reminders I create directly in Google Calendar.

Installing Google Assistant on my Watch 4 fixed the issue.  Now reminders via Google Assistant or created via the Android Calendar are both synced to the watch.  So good!
