Sorry it didn't work. You could do like me and just keep the watch hand under something while sleeping if you want to track your sleep. A sports wrist band comes to mind.

Might be a stupif question, when this greenlight keeps blinking, does it cause harm to me in the long run? šŸ„“

I don't believe so, unless you point it directly at your eyes. Have you put in an error report?

The error report will send the device log to the engineers.

Hello everyone,

I loved my Watch6 until the new OS update in December 2024. Before that whenever the watch had sleep mode active, no green/red sensors would turn on during the night. I saw in other forums that it was a feature announced by Samsung, where the watch would only use invisible infrared light to monitor your sleep during the night.

After the update in December 2024, every couple minutes the watch start to light up its green light sensor even with Sleep Mode active.

I reached out to Samsung support but I was informed that this is normal, which is not true since it never happened before.

I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this since or if there is a fix for that.

I already tried to factory reset the device, update to this January's patch as well as turn off all possible sensors but the green light still comes up ever now and then during the night in Sleep mode.

Thanks!

Not being in the habit of watching my watch's sensors while I'm sleeping, I can tell you that when I wake up, for whatever reason, I do see flashes of red or green, so I know they always have been working during sleep mode. The red is for the vitals sensing, the green is the on-wrist sensor. Sometimes if you move your arm in your sleep, the watch shifts position and the green laser flashes to make sure it's still on your wrist. The red beams are not constant, but the only way they stop is if your heart does. If you are seeing these flashes, it either means you have momentarily woken up, or you are sleeping with your wrist near your eyes. If this is problematic for you, I suggest covering the watch while you sleep, either by keeping your arm down under a blanket, putting your arm under a pillow, or buying an athletic sweat band to put over your wrist at night. BTW, the red beam *is* infrared. Infrared does not mean invisible. So Samsung is not lying to you when they tell you this is normal.

While on sleep mode I mainly see the green light.

But as I mentioned, while on sleep mode before the update, the green light would never light up and now it lights up every now and then even if I'm not moving.

If this was normal I would just understand and simply not use the watch6 during sleep, but what bothers me is that only after the update in December this started to be an issue during sleep mode.
