Another post refers to the Galaxy Watch 7 being unable to take blood Pressure readings due to lack of FDA approval.

This concerns me. One of the major reasons for purchasing this watch was the ability to perform this function. If it had been specifically spelled out when I purchased the watch, I may have selected a different product. I'm not past my return window.

Is there going to be an upcoming software update that will then allow the Galaxy Watch 7 to take BP measurements? Or must I start shopping for a different watch?

@mikem721 The hope is that this will be approved by the FDA and available in the US. But Samsung has been trying to get this approved for a few years so there is no expected date.

In the meantime, I have a Bluetooth capable BP Monitor. while it isn't on the list of Samsung approved, it can export information. Is there a way to import information to Samsung Health Monitor?

Yes. Open Samsung Health, click the 3 dots on top right, click on Accessories. You will find the list of compatible devices.

It's been known publicly for years that while this feature is built into these devices, in the US it is not yet functional, as it is not FDA approved. It's not a secret, and a little research would have easily let you know that. I do agree, though, that there should be a disclaimer in the specs that this feature is not available in all regions. I think some sellers say that.

I bought the Galaxy watch 3 expecting blood pressure and have traded watches every year and I 'm on the watch ultra now so you see how long I have been waiting.
