Galaxy WatchI had previously opened this thread:
Somehow, today, some moderator merged the thread with another thread blocking me out. I am no longer able to reply to that thread.
The solution provided in that thread is not a complete solution to my problem, because;
1. I understand that people have issues using remote connection to the LTE watch (it does not work for them at all) , and the solution is a fix to that problem
2. My issue is not a "remote connection not working" problem. My issue is that , call & sms over remote connection is not working because it is not an option provided on Wearable app.
I tried the !solution! clearing data from Google Services (for wearable) and resetting my watch. Unfortunately, that does not bring the "call from remote connection" option.
Still asking for solution/fix from Samsung...
Original question:
>>>
I was previously using a Watch 5 Pro. Now I switched to Watch Ultra and I don't use LTE on the watch.
So I want to be able to use "call on other devices" feature which enables me to dial on my watch using the mobile network of my phone even if I am not near my phone and bluetooth is not connected.
this was possible on Watch 5 Pro (and other Samsung watches AFAIK) , now on Ultra this is not available. Maybe because it has its own LTE module. But since I don't have a mobile plan on my watch, I can't dial.
Is this feature missed ? Is it forgotten or left abandoned on purpose ?

Galaxy Watchyes I can see that.
But I want that feature to be added. Since my old Watch 5 Pro has this feature, this seems like a downgrade for me.
Having LTE on the watch doesn't mean we will use it with LTE and should not be a reason to cut down call and text over remote connection.

Galaxy WatchI don't understand what you mean.
Remote connection is turned ON on my watch (wearable app) and also on my phone.
But phone does not list watch ultra along with my old Watch 5 pro.
So I think it does not work.
You say it is working. Can you please send a screenshot from your "call on other devices" setting on your phone ?
Does it list Watch ultra ?

Galaxy WatchIf you think it's broken, submit an error report
Reproduce the issue and then open the Samsung Members app, click on Support (Lower right)->Feedback->Send Error Report, Remember to check on "Send System Data Log"

Galaxy WatchI have reported this situation through the "members" app providing system logs. I hope the devs can see the problem and provide a solution.
Otherwise , Watch Ultra is like a downgrade from Watch 5 Pro.

Galaxy WatchYou misconstrue what I said. I do not have a watch ultra. I was commenting on your observation of your watch 5. I already stated I have a watch 4. If you have connected both your watch 5 and watch ultra to the wear app, both should show, but you can only change the settings on the one that is connected at the time. If your watch ultra is not showing in your wear app, then it's not connected to it and you have to try connecting to it again.
While I do have call and text on other devices turned on on my phone, it does not list my watch as an available device, because watches are not included in that setting. This is, I imagine, because watches have their own connections to the phone, where tablets and computers do not. The only ways to call and text on your watch when it's not connected by BT is to either have an LTE plan or to have remote connection turned on in the wear app AND have both the watch and phone connected to a data path (network). The watch can be connected to wi-fi and the phone connected to mobile or the phone and watch can be connected to wi-fi. They do not have to be on the same network. In the past, the remote connection was automatic, but required the phone and watch to both be on the same wi-fi network because it was a direct link. This meant it could only be possible when phone and watch were in the same place although out of BT range. With the new remote connection going through Google Cloud services, you don't even have to have the watch in the same city as your phone as long as the phone is on and connected to either the mobile network or the wi-fi network and the watch is connected to a wi-fi network and both are signed into your Google account.
I hope this makes it clearer for you. First thing you have to do, though, is make sure your watch ultra is connected to the wear app.

Galaxy WatchOK. But you are not adding anything to my question. What you described is what I already know.
I have been using Samsung watches for about 10 years now. I have used Tizen watches and have been using Wear OS watches since then first came out.
I had my Watch 5 Pro connected to my phone and "call and text from other devices" worked with it seemlessly. No issues.
Now I have the Watch Ultra. It is connected to my phone and I can see it on Wearable app. But on my phone , under "call from other devices" setting it is not listed. (see attached screenshot)
So this feature is not working on Watch Ultra.
My question is about this. I don't understand the relevance when you say "it is working on Watch 4"
I know it is working on Watch 4. I am looking for the same on Watch Ultra

Galaxy WatchAs long as you have remote connection turned on, you will be able to call and text on your watch when out of BT range as long as you have some kind of network connection on both devices. It does not matter whether call and text on other devices is enabled or not, or whether watches are included or excluded from that feature.
