I have two GW7 and galaxy watch 6. In the updated UI, the option to auto switch between watches is no longer shown.

Before I get a response about the three lines at the top right, the new UI uses boxes at the bottom to show your list of devices.

I was hopeful that the update to the new UI on the 6 classic would resolve this issue as all are now on wear OS 5 UI 6 but all it got me was the sleep apnea detection.

It was bad enough how hit and miss it was with the older watches. Has this feature been removed all together? Seems it would be very elementary to get this to work with on wrist detection

Odd.

Updated my galaxy watch 6 this morning.

My auto-switch menu is present in the wear app.

The issue I have is, it doesn't work.

After a full set of updates and numerous restart events, my watches will only auto switch from the 7 the 6.

Once the 6 is the active watch, putting the 7 on will not auto switch.

This behavior is 100% repeatable across numerous attempts over the last several hours of experimentation.

I'll assume this will be corrected in a future update.

Mine do not auto switch at all . It may be that the active watch is usually still powered on on the charger. It should not take all of this to switch watches. I also own the competition and it switches flawlessly each and every time.

@Brammy My phone switches to between my GW6 and GW Ultra almost all of the time. Sometimes it takes a while to to the GW Ultra -> GW 6 transition.

Click the "boxes" at the bottom to show the list of devices. Then click the 3 dot menu and select Settings. This is where I see the Auto switch setting.  Screenshot_20241126_123533_Galaxy Watch6 Manager.jpg

Update:

I un-installed the watch 6 manager and the watch 7 manager from the app menu. Then I un-installed the wear app. Then I factory reset both my watch 6 and my watch 7 ultra. I did not restore the watch backups and set them each up as new watches.

Auto switch works now. Sort of.

It's much slower than it used to be (before the update), but it does work. Some of the time...

The auto-switch from the 7U to the 6 watch continues to be nearly 100%.

The auto-switch from the 6 to the 7U watch is at best about 30%.

It seems to work best after fresh restarts on each watch.

Does anyone have it working perfectly between a Watch6 and a 7 (or 7U)?
