Galaxy Watch

The weirdest thing has happened a couple times and now I'm concerned. For no apparent reason, my watch keeps doin a forced reset. I then have to go through the whole process of setting it up again. This time around it completely changed the way my watch is set up. Face, settings and icon order. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening? This thing cost too much and is only 4 months old. 😡

We feel you. Many of us are having this issue. Samsung is merging all the various threads together about it to make it look less severe than what it is. I'm on my 8 th reset now. What sucks is backups aren't working either. Have to reinstall apps, redo all the permissions, reset any changes made to assistants, button settings, etc. Tech help is useless and they sure are dragging their feet on a fix. Hopefully they will come out with a fix some day.

Ive gave up and put my watch away. Im highly disappointed. I've reset my watch and it keeps doing the same thing. It keeps asking me to disconnect and reset.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't see other posts and I thought I was the only one. Apparently I'm not. The backup has never worked right for me ever since they changed to use Smart Switch on Watch 5 I believe. I don't know what Samsung is doing, I guess they don't think we have other options. I skipped Pixel 9 and went for S24U instead and wanted to have a full Samsung experience. That was a mistake. That's why I'm not upgrading to S25 and will go back to Pixel 10. Also hope Pixel Watch 3 would fit my needs.

Supposedly there's a fix in a software update. Yet when I check there is no updates. 1742838936725.jpg

Thanks for sharing, although I call BS on their part.

Just like you, I have no updates available for my watch or my phone either.

Last S23Ultra update was March 11th, 2025

Last Watch Ultra update was ~Jan. 22nd, 2025.

Currently, no available updates for either.

Up to you, but you may want to reply & ask for the version & specific release notes.  I'd love to hear their response to that.

Thanks,

Just happened to me this morning. I also made a separate post here. Called Samsung which was a complete waste of time. The restore backup was failing for me until I rebooted my phone.

To wipe the cache partition on your Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, enter Recovery Mode by holding both side buttons until the watch turns off, then repeatedly press the top button until the bootloader menu appears, select "Recovery mode," and then use the bottom button to select "wipe cache partition" and confirm with the top button.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Enter Recovery Mode:

Turn off the watch:

Hold both side buttons (the power/home button and the back button) until the watch turns off.

Enter Bootloader Menu:

As soon as the watch turns off, start repeatedly pressing the top button (power/home button) until the bootloader menu appears.

Select Recovery Mode:

Use the top button to select "Recovery mode" and hold it until the watch reboots into recovery mode.
