Home TheaterSame exact issue here in USA. Q990D bricked by firmware update. If Samsung doesn't offer an official reply within the next 24 hours I will be seeking recourse through the U.S. - Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and recommend all other seek to exercise any similar rights they might be afforded in their individual countries... absolutely atrocious customer service response thus far.
U.S. - Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act
• If a manufacturer update causes a device to malfunction beyond normal wear & tear, they are liable for repairs or replacements.
• File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Home TheaterJust got off the phone with Samsung electronics customer support. They are sending a technician to my house (USA) to diagnose my bricked Q990D. The representative could not find any information related to widespread 1020.7 issues yet it’s all over the internet. Shame on you Samsung.

Home TheaterHa thats exactly what customer support told me. I thought was kinda strange to send someone to my house for this haha. Next day I got email giving me UPS Tracking label to ship it to their repair center in New Jersey (USA)

Home TheaterHW-Q995D owner, Denmark.
Same issue as everyone else in this thread. Updated to the latest firmware, 1020.7 , which resulted in it bricking.
Symptoms: stuck at last source used, eArc, with unchangeable volume controls. Unreachable by phone app or any other Bluetooth capable device. Takes roughly 30 seconds to shut off and when turned back on it’s stuck at same settings as before.
None of the factory reset methods work.

Home TheaterMe too. It auto updated and within 2 days it's a brick. Only scrolls TV eArc. Support was unhelpful and didn't want to accept the firmware had anything to do with it. They want me to ship it out but I have yet to find a box to fit it in.

Home TheaterGlad this is not just me. I have the HW-Q800D and am experiencing the same. Stuck in e-arc mode, buttons on the remote and soundbar do nothing. Gets stuck with “bye” on the screen, not connecting to wifi, can’t turn volume up or down. Ticket has been launched. What a disappointing for such an expensive device.
