Home TheaterSince the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.
Seems like quite a few people with the issue

Home TheaterAs a worldwide well-established entrepreneur, after 37 pages of complains, 181127 views at its official forum, neither a single official statement is issued , nor any solution is provided! How ridiculous!

Home TheaterPretty **bleep** ridiculous that a forced update that I didn’t even apply rendered my flagship $2,000 system completely useless. I don’t have time to deal with shipping, etc right now, got a ton of other things going on and just want to be able to use my system the little down time I do have. I have been a big Samsung fan for years until now.

Home TheaterHi guys,,,so, my situation is a bit different. I have bought a q990d about a week ago from Amazon. So far I didn't open or install it because I was really busy with work.
Reading all the comments here made me hesitant and disappointed.
I'm wondering what should I do.
Keep it and don't update it, or return it (I'm still within Amazon return timeframe)
What would you do guys?
I really wanted this system, because recently sold my stereo amp+florstanding speakers+sub to replace it with this system. Realised that we watch more movies than listen to music. And have a small daughter which is running around touching grabbing everything in the way, so a soundbar system would make more sense and more safe for her and make the wife happier.
But reading these comments made me really think about what should I do
Any reply appreciated,,,

Home TheaterIf you think it was a good soundbar before the upgrade fiasco, then it is still a good soundbar.
Even though it is a good idea to to keep auto update OFF for now, the offending firmware is no longer available (at least in the US) on the product support site.

Home TheaterThe firmware has been removed secretly.
set it up and ensure to not have the auto update feature on your phone. In fact don’t even use the SmartThings App as yet.
The U.K. customer support sucks.

Home TheaterI’ve created a Facebook group that all affected can join. It is a public group called “Samsung Soundbar Bricked”. Please join and we can amass everyone affected into one large social media group. Here is the link, if it lets me post it. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1AKA7XF7B2/?mibextid=wwXIfr
