Showcase Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Making Ice

Hello,

I have a Samsung side-by-side Showcase Refrigerator with ice maker (RH22H9010SR) and the ice maker doesn’t want to make ice. I’ve tried Samsungs troubleshooting steps and they did not fix the problem. I think the ice maker works, but a switch or component is not allowing it to begin necessary functions.

The unit will dispense and crush ice- it will just not dispense water into the tray when it is supposed to. When I took the unit off of the freezer door, it did briefly spit water onto the ground; so it can dispense water, but is not doing it when expected. 

Does anyone in the community have any experience with this and can help me troubleshoot further? Are there any resources or documents that show what switches control what processes to that I can run through and check the components?

We have a solution: You may contact Samsung support and take your refrigerator to a repair dealer. Or contact the store where you brought it.

The refrigerator was inherited with the purchase of a house. Unfortunately, the repair price quoted by Samsung was very far outside of what I am willing to pay. The unit alone is less than $100 and the quoted repair price was more than 5 times that.
