Hi there - I hope someone can give me some guidance!

I got home tonight and went to turn on my TV...nothing appeared on the screen, but I could hear sound coming in. hmmm, that's strange. I went through the standard troubleshooting steps: I unplugged the TV, the DirecTV receiver, let it sit....plugged back in. Changed the batteries on both remotes. Unplugged the Roku from the back of the TV....powered off the power strip....Nothing is working. I'm not even getting any sound now. the TV was working just fine this morning! Did the TV just go kaput? I am currently chatting with Samsung Care via text - he said it would probably be better to just buy a new TV than to try and have it repaired, since the TV is 9 years old. the estimated cost for repair would likely be $315 - 430.

Has this happened to anyone else? I assume it's the TV at issue - if it was the DirecTV receiver I would still have a picture on the TV.

Ugh - having my TV go so soon into 2025 wasn't on my bingo card....but then again a lot of things haven't been on my bingo card.

Thank you in advance!

Dina

I agree with the Samsung rep. After 9 years, it's better to get a new TV. Yes, electronics do just die like that.

Sorry to hear this about your tv.  From what you’ve said it sounds like the tv has died and customers service is correct it would probably cost more to repair it since it’s 9 years old parts will be hard to locate.  You can get a good Samsung Tv pretty cheap right now depending on the size you want
