Hi all,

my smart tv is constantly on update mode. I can’t watch anything because there is a software update happening. I don’t know how to deactivate this as I am sure it’s a bug. It’s a nightmare. I have a message on the screen saying there is an ongoing software update and that the tv will start over after the update is done. It repeats the same thing over and over again, non stop.
Thank you.

Hey, welcome to the community! I can definitely understand your concern here. My children would drive me up a wall without our television. Let's try to alleviate some of the stress by trying a few steps.

Unplug the TV or projector for 30 seconds.

Unplug the TV/projector from the wall outlet or surge protector and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds.

Inspect the power cord for damage.
Check the power cord to see if there is any visible damage. If the power cord appears damaged, you can get a replacement at samsungparts.com.

You can search for your TV model to find the exact power cord you need.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
If you were using a surge protector, bypass it for now and use a wall outlet.

Disable the Power On with Mobile option.
TVs and projectors that can connect to SmartThings can be turned on using compatible devices, sometimes automatically. However, if abnormal "power on" signals are sent through the wireless network, they will trigger this function and make the TV turn on.

If you do not want this function, navigate to Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile, and turn the setting off.

If this does not help I recommend letting a service technician have a look. As we would like to gather additional information and look at this from a case-by-case basis, please provide the full model code and serial number of the device as well as your best contact phone number, name, and email.
