My remote has stopped controlling the sound on my tv, all other functions work apart from the volume. I also have a firestick plugged in and the remote for that doesn't control the volume, all other functions work.apart from the volume.
I've changed batteries in both, I've googled and YouTubed answers but nothing working.
Does the remote have any kind of code printed on it? To clarify, is this the original remote that came with the TV? If yes, what's the model number on the TV? If no, please write back with the make and model number of the remote too.
Do you have anything else connected to your TV like a stereo or a soundbar?
Have you checked to make sure your TV doesn't require any updates?
If I know exactly what kind of TV and remote based on make and model number I can better assist you in troubleshooting. If the remote works for everything else and the Fire stick remote is the same way, my first guess is that it isn't the remotes and you have some setting enabled in the TV that is muting out all your sound. When you hit the up and down buttons for the volume on the remotes and they don't work, does it show on screen that the volume is turning up and down even if the sound doesn't change or does absolutely nothing show on screen when you hit those buttons?
Can you still control it with the buttons on the TV or is it muted when you try there too?
