Monitors and MemoryAbout 1.5 weeks ago I bought a monitor of S27AG50 (https://displaysolutions.samsung.com/monitor/detail/1842/S27AG50) in a local Best Buy store. I went in in person and didn't order online. I'm using it this way:
1. Connect to my work laptop Dell Precision 7510.
2. My work laptop uses Ubuntu 18.04.
3. I'm mirroring my laptop screen. (I don't like joint screens.)
4. I'm using HDMI cable.
Most of the time the monitor works great: no flickers; no black dots; no any other noticeable issues. However, sometimes, the monitor would become "half black and half white": the left half of the monitor becomes completely pure white color, and the right half becomes completely pure black color. This may remain for 0.5 ~ 1 second and then the monitor becomes normal again.
The time this happens seems to be random but it has happened like 10 times since I bought it. I tried a different HDMI cable but the issue still happens.
Has anyone else observed a similar issue before?
