No apps on my M8 monitor

I’m having the same problem on a M8 monitor. There’s no App section and can’t install or search for new apps. I wanted to install the MLB app. It looks like the system was updated, there’s a recent square now that who’s the last app I was using.

I unplugged the power cable and re-started the monitor and now there's an app tab. No longer an app.
