Samsung Odyssey G5 update.

hello everyone! I'm trying to update my 27" Samsung Odyssey G5. (1440p 165hz) (LS27AG500PNXZA)

I have been searching for a while, and I cannot find an update file anywhere. 

the monitor has been great. the picture quality is beautiful, the size is perfect, and the refresh rate is buttery smooth.

 my issue is, the screen will randomly flash white. sometimes just for a split second, sometimes for close to 5 seconds. and I have lost my game multiple times because of this.

this happens when connected to my PC, which has a Ryzen 7 5800x and an Radeon RX 6650XT, using display port, and on my Xbox Series S, which uses HDMI.

I'm really hoping that the update can fix this issue, but I was planning on updating it before I found the white screen issue anyways.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately if the update file is not up yet then it should be soon. As we do not personally contorl when new updates come out we would be unable to speculate when they will be uploaded to the site.

 

The screen may flicker depending on the type of graphics card, the game option settings, the current refresh rate or the video being played. Try the following actions: decrease the game setting values, change the current FreeSync mode to Off, adjust your refresh rate also make sure that your GPU is up to date. 

 

If none of this helped this is something that will require service. Depending on your warranty you will have a few options. 

 

- If your device was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.

- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service processed.

- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup

- If you're OUT of warranty, for depot type products (Soundbars, Home Theater Systems, tablets, ect.) that require to be shipped we recommend you speak with our depot team for pricing and to have the service set up: 1-310-669-4334.
