When I connect the T7 Touch to my MacBook Pro, it does not recognise it on the software ("no Samsung Portable SSD is connected"). Is this because I am on MacOS Big Sur beta?

Hi, Samsung has released an updated version of their T7 SSD software called “Portable SSD Software 1.0 for Mac (The macOS Big Sur user's only)”

This might resolve your issue.

visit the URL and look for the one I mentioned above.

It does not solves the issue. On my MacBook Pro M1 this new version still does not recognise the T7 touch. @samsung978531 please provide support and fix this SW issue. My drive is useless. I bought it specifically for the security feature which does not work.

After installing the new software on Wednesday on my M1 MacBook Air it made me go into recovery mode and disable some of the security settings (I have FileVault enabled), after that it worked. However, after installing Big Sur 11.2.2 yesterday, it's now broken again.
