Projectors & Other TVsHow do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?
Thanks,
Mark

Projectors & Other TVsSome people said you could buy an HDMI switch that doesn't have auto switch to correct it. It's a terrible fix but I guess it works. Trying to find a good cheap one now...

Projectors & Other TVsAs long as you pay attention not to buy a too cheap one.
It must be able to maintain the video output "active" as all inputs are off.
The one I mentioned on page 4 of this thread is proven to solve Samsung's problem for many month now.
Some other switches didn't help, like ones with mechanical contacts.
The switch from Nintendo, althought it is 6 times more expensive seems to make the problem even worse!
Also 4K bandwidth was important for me, otherwise I could better bought a Full HD television.

Projectors & Other TVsAs many people have stated this is extremely annoying and I share the pain of everyone in this thread. I have monitored this thread for months but can no longer sit here in England silently regretting my purchase.
I have the KS7000 with PC, Nvidia Shield, Xbox One and all in one surround sound.
When I wake up my PC, whoever may be watching the TV is interrupted as the TV switches to it.
Sometimes I dont want to use my surround sound so I turn it off. When I turn it back on again the TV switches to it.
This is incredibly frustrating when using the so called 'smart' tv apps such as Netflix which are a pain to resume watching.
I also lose the labels of the HDMI inputs as others have said.
Please sort this out, you need to dedicate more engineers to this clearly as these TVs are a year old.

Projectors & Other TVsMy $.02 ... Have a UN75JU7100 since 5/16. Using HDMI 1 to Splitter for TV & basement TV, 2 for Firestick, 3 for Samsung BluRay and 4 to Yamaha Receiver. Optical to Splitter: A-port to Yamaha Sound Bar and B-port to LaserDisc sound out (if anyone cares).
Early on turning TV would jump to HDMI2 after 10-30 secs. Samsung gave me a new HDMI Mini Box and offered to replace the main board. Opted for the new One Connect Mini. Problem went away, only one occurrence of jumping to HDMI2 until April '17. Now I get the jumping to HDMI2 about 50% of the time when I turn it on. I don't have the energy to go after this problem again. Will write a letter to Samsung (US Mail type) and relate my issue, 31 pages of Samsung Community concerns and the fact they seem to ignore issues (including one I had with a $700 phone in January) and my ownership of 2 other TV's and 3 BluRays, a refrigerator and other assorted items I can't recall.
I don't expect anything to result but this further reinforces my resolve to avoid Samsung in the future. I trust voting with my/your pocketbooks will have an effect.

Projectors & Other TVsWe need a setting to disable ALL auto detection of inputs. I don't want the KS8000 to change the icon of inputs. I don't want the KS8000 to automatically change inputs. I don't want the KS8000 to rename inputs. I want a manual-only option.
EDIT: I just want to thank Nintendo. This issue would never have gotten Samsung's attention without a major product exhasperating the issue. I don't have a Nintendo switch, but I have a PC hooked up to my TV, and this auto-switching and auto-detecton sucks.

Exactly my issue, which a google search led me here. The input sensing/renaming without an option to disable does not help the home theater crowd, and customer support recommending a solution to attach your sources to the HDMI ports and then run the audio to the AVR/preamp is not a well thought out recommendation. For one, this COMPLETELY eliminates the governing OSD for dorks like me who use an AVR/preamp.
I fussed with it for a little bit trying to find a way to disable it, but I couldn't find an option anywhere. But on a positive note, I started hitting cancel every time I switched sources on my preamp (which is just a reaaaaaly expensive way to say "HDMI switch") which would prompt me with the "a new device has been detected, do you want set it up?" message. Eventually it must have gotten frustrated with my futile resistance as it stopped asking me to setup entirely. It no longer renames the input, and also no longer changes the input mode (i.e., PC, cable).
But on another note, telling the smart remote to "fu*k off and stop renaming my inputs" is not a solution. While I would have preferred a vocal response perhaps in the tone of Dr. Evil's voice, the only response I do get is a prompt on the TV that reads, "Please excuse me, but I couldn't understand what you said." I'm guessing customer support must have typed that message on my TV in response as it's connected to the internet after all, which is tantamount to them posting in this thread and telling you to stop using your AVR/preamp as an HDMI switch.
Gee, maybe if I stop thinking for myself and accept what Samsung is smelling selling I might be able to march behind them. But really, this is 2017 earth, not early-to-mid 20th century Germany.

Projectors & Other TVsSuggestions!? It's more like a complaint. How about you correct the issues so I can once again be confident in your product as I am a loyal customer.
I cant stand when my TV switches to AV 3-4 times after I turn it on requiring me to hold my receiver remote for 5 min until the last switch is done. Now I am having issues with the tv not detecting my receiver under the sound options so I cant control the volume with my cable remote anymore.

Projectors & Other TVsI'm having an issue with a 70" series 6 that after around 30mins switches automatically from the hdmi input to TV. No selection changes made via remote or app it's just automatically changing.
Given the consistency of the change it looks more like a setting than a fault.
Any suggestions.
Regards
Brendan
