How to Turn off auto-detect HDMI

How do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?

I figured out why the Switch is doing this with the TV. It doesn't excuse the TV from not allowing me to turn it off, though. The problem is that the Switch Dock is actually super sensitive, so if someone is like, walking close to whatever it is on, and it vibrates enough, the Switch kinda resettles into the dock, and the TV is like, "OH MAN THAT HDMI PORT IS LIVE NOW WOOO!!!" and switches (no pun intended) to the Switch input.

I found out because I had an uneven load of laundry that was shaking something fierce, and it my TV kept changing to the Switch HDMI port.

I've tried using this thread to actually get my Switch to connect to my TV. I have a Samsung ks8000 and have no problems with Xbox One in hdmi port one. Nintendo Switch is in hdmi two and it flickers for a second like it has received a signal, then just says no signal. No matter what I do I cannot get my Nintendo Switch to display on my TV.  I've tried hdmi ports two and three, plugging and unplugging cables, and docking and undocking the Switch.

I'm having that problem too. I plug in my switch in HDMI and it says it has no signal but it works fine for my xbox360. And I connected my switch to my LG tv and it works perfectly. So it's definitely the samsung tv.

This was a saviour for me with my QE75Q9FNAT. The TV was driving me potty with my Yamaha AV reciever. Any time the resolution changed the tv would try and adjust the picture and at that point the HMDI handshake would break and i'd have to power the TV and receiver down to get the two to pair again.

This should be an option in the menu to turn it on and off. Its taken me a week to get to the bottom of this for what essentially is a samsung fault. A normal person would have no hope of pairing these two and Samsung support was useless (they should take a note from Yamaha who were superb).

I'm having the exact same problem with my Nintendo Switch.

Plugged in to HDMI 4 and I'll be watching TV and out of nowhere it jumps to HDMI 4.

Surely there will be a fix for this, surely just as simple as turning the feature off, come on Samsung sort this out for everyone!!

My switch is doing the exact same thing!  

It will just switch to HDMI 4 randomly after I put it to sleep.  

This really should be a simple fix with the size and expertise of the people in a company like Samsung.  This needs to get to the right channels to get fixed.

I think I can offer some help here.  I own a KS8000.  

First, this is happening with the Switch because of an OS bug that is occasionally sending a signal when it's in sleep mode.  

You can can completely shut off the Switch by holding down the power button on the top of the Switch unit.  Select power options", and then "turn off".  If you do this the signal problem is gone.  It's a little annoying to have to walk up to the Switch to do this, but it is a temporary solution to this problem.  Keep in mind you will then have to go press that same power button to turn on the Switch again.  Controllers won't turn it on if the console or completely turned off.

I'm assuming Nintendo will fix the sleep mode issue in a future update.  

There is also an option in the Switch settings, under tv settings.  Turn off "Match tv power state".  This might also help in making this problem less annoying in the future.

Lastly, regarding your Samsung tv.  There is an option under it's settings.  Under "system" there is "expert settings".  Turn off "anynet+".  I believe this feature has something to do with devices connected and sending signals through HDMI.  I turned this off months ago and it seems dramatically less common that a device changes my HDMI input for me, although it does still happen occasionally.
