How do you turn off the auto-detect HDMI feature? Sometimes my Apple TV comes on and then the TV automatically turns on as well but I don't want the TV to do so. How do you turn off this feature?

Samsung, DAILY my partner asks me why our Samsung TV isn't working correctly. You know what? She's right. It's not working correctly. For the TV to turn over each time it detects a device is useless. I can't think of one time where I'd want or need that to happen.
If you don't want to lie to your wife, you shouldn't say: no, sorry dear. You should say: yes I can, but that costs us 75 bucks, and it is Samsungs fault, so I won't do that. But than again, the chances are high that she replies: then buy a f*ing switch and never buy a Samsung again!
Please give us more expert settings. Right now they are lacking. Turning off autodetect per hdmi would be sweet. But I'd settle for a global option. I will not turn off anynet as that is how I passthrough TV sources to my sound system. This seems like a simple software fix, but I know better.
Also give us the option to keep the backlight on instead of hiding it in the brightness. It's jarring to have a fade to Black cut out the backlight. Just weird. Give us options. But I digress...
I would love to know what the technology is that is causing this.
Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) turned OFF - TV still auto switches
Manual (push button) HDMI switch - TV still defeats it and auto switches, regardless of switch positions
Electronic HDMI switch - TV still auto switches regardless of settings
CEC-less HDMI cable - TV still auto switches at will.
With this behaviour one suspects that it is something other than Anynet+ / CEC, as it defeats all of the above more often than not.
Exactly what right does Samsung have to ride roughshod over my devices, accessories, cables and settings? I would suggest that the answer is probably NONE. The best solution would be for Samsung to rectify this 'feature' and at the very least make it capable of being turned off, preferably get rid of it all together. If the TV switches when I TURN ON THE ATTACHED DEVICE that would possibly be acceptable to most. TVs that switch automatically at the will of the TV alone are probably acceptable to NONE.
The owners have paid good money for these hi spec TVs, they do not expect to have them hijacked by the whims of Samsung.
Can someone with some legal knowledge please explore this option? Obviously Samsung monitors these forums and they still don't care about us. They are ignoring us blatantly! We should sue!

NOT for my situation, because my Humax switches on every 30 minutes. And also not for many people with PC's connected. Or even removing a DVD from the player when the childeren are playing a game can be lethal, depending on which game they are playing...

I found this thread when researching how to stop my new Samsung UN65KS9000FXZA from swithcing to the HDMI receiver input when I turn on the receiver. Sometimes I just watch the TV without the receiver on and then decide to turn on the receiver. When I do, the same thing everyone is complaining about in this thread happens. Samsung, isn't it possible to upgrade the firmware/gui/API to give the user the option of disabling this "feature", please.

Feel free to disagree Sam, I only know what my TV does, not why it does it. The only thing I will say is that I thought that a CEC-free HDMI cable had pin 19 removed, so no idea how that gets defeated, must be Samsung Magic
I really don't mean to be rude, but this has to be the most "thanks for your comments, however we don't really care" answer I have ever seen.
Instead of 'forwarding suggestions' why not get someone from Samsung to explain why this feature is not working correctly? Unless automatically switching HDMI ports when it detects something is working correctly, in which case why not get someone to explain why Samsung think this feature is a good idea?
People on this thread have given Samsung a lot of money and deserve answers!
