Projectors & Other TVsHello,
I purchased a UN65J8500 3 years ago and just recently, within the last 2 months, I started noticing what looks to be light spots shinning through the panel. These light spots are especially noticeable on solid colors.
I've posted a couple of images of what it looks like:
Is this something that I can fix or is this panel not worth saving?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
cheers,
devin

Projectors & Other TVsI'm having the same issues (light bleeding, blackspots, over heating at the edges) with my TV. This is crazy considering this TV is supposed to be top of the line and not that old. Over time, it just keeps getting worse. I was always impressed with Samsung products, until this TV that is. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Projectors & Other TVs
Samsung is refusing to repair or replace this defective television model and it appears to pose a safety concern to us all with the overheating issue.
I am looking into starting a law suit currently and if any of y'all can message me with the similar issues y'all are having with this TV model it will help with our case.
thanks

Projectors & Other TVsNo you are not. Ticket has already been started and Samsung is denying replacement and repair costs after a techinian came out to verify the displays on these TVs are going bad due to a backlight issue

Projectors & Other TVsHello, I have same issue as everyone else here with my js8500.. so I have noticed that in my picture settings it keeps automatically pushing the backlight up to the max at 20. I change it back down to 7 then I notice it looks too bright a half hour later, I check and backlight is back up to 20. And this keeps happening to the point where now everytime I begin watching something I have to manually adjust the backlight down. I could see this being a cause to the edge bleed that I and everyone else is having. has anyone else noticed this??. Also as a note it is on home mode not demo(all other settings I have remain) and all other settings of the led to automatically adjust are off and this even happens at night in a dark room.. this is ridiculous and I have even made a video recording of me changing the backlight and 2 minutes later it's back to 20

Projectors & Other TVsHello, if you are experiencing the symptoms above, please confirm the following:
- Is the unit pulled into a surge protector?
- Try plugging the unit directly into a wall outlet.
- Is your device up to date?
- Make sure that the unit is up to date with the latest software: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062224/
- Does this happen on all sources?
- Try different source to see if the symptoms appear, if they do not it will be an issue with your HDMI connection, or the external device.
- Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test, If the test says the cable is bad, replace the cable.
- Try a different External device and/or cable
- Have you performed a picture test?
- If you are able to, Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test, and then follow the on-screen directions.
If the TV can display a picture, and there’s no further symptoms, you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working, and troubleshoot with the manufacturer or replace the device/cable.
If the troubleshooting above did not help, or alleviate the symptoms, the unit will require service. Please see the service options listed below:

Projectors & Other TVsHi, yes tv says it's up to date with v1550
Yes this happens with all sources.
I usually use a surge protector but have removed it to see if that was the cause, but still happens.
It's not an hdmi issue as I mostly use apps built into the tv
