Projectors & Other TVsHello,
I purchased a UN65J8500 3 years ago and just recently, within the last 2 months, I started noticing what looks to be light spots shinning through the panel. These light spots are especially noticeable on solid colors.
I've posted a couple of images of what it looks like:
Is this something that I can fix or is this panel not worth saving?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
cheers,
devin

Projectors & Other TVsGoodluck!
I have a KS8500 that had a cluster of dead pixels just out of warranty. After the hasstle, Samsung finally agreed to fix it.
I then took it to a third party repair shop and they put in a whole new panel. Arrived home and the TV was not sealed properly. Massive light bleed and blooming, I now have big C clamps holding the frame of my TV together.. It looks absolutely ridiculous but it works.
I tried to get Samsung to fix it the second time but being out of warranty I was out of luck.
Looking at replacing my C clamped KS8500, and the whole experience has definitely drove me away from even looking at a Samsung TV. LG CX OLED looks nice!!
@user5kNZL0ZpBR wrote:I was excited to buy this TV in late 2017 and really enjoyed the picture quality, but in the past 3 months the TV has started falling apart and lightbleed is completely ruining my TV. There's a 4 inch bright line of light bleed along the bottom of my screen and I started seeing the edge lit LEDs at the top corner of TV. The frame is literally bent and the panel is coming away from the screen.
It looks like this is a pretty common issue according to the forum? I was considering buying a new Samsung but I'm afraid of spending money on something that's going to fall apart in 3 months. Has anyone been able to fix these issues?

Projectors & Other TVsIm expericing the bleeding issues on my UN65JS8500 that many people in this forum have reported. This is highly unexceptable for a tv that was suppose to be top of th eline a few years ago. I have troubleshooted and did all the necessary thing reported in the forums to correct the problem but to no avail. Please advise me on what can be done to fix this problem. Below is model, serial, and update version. I purchased the tv in 2015.

Projectors & Other TVsGood luck. I've emailed, messaged and called and they just say 4 years is too long and we can't do anything about it.

Projectors & Other TVsThis just started two days ago but it now looks like someone sliced our screen and bright light shines through. Its not as prominent on the darker colors or when the screen is black but on the brighter colors it really shines through. This TV is not that old and for what we paid it shouldn't be doing this. What can we do to fix this?????

Projectors & Other TVsI have the same issue in the same exact spot. Now have a 2nd one starting a touch lower and closer to the center. Mine was about $500 from BJ's. I'm in the market for a major upgrade and to move this one to a basement, but there is no way I'm dropping $2K-$3K on another Samsung after this experience.

Projectors & Other TVsPurchases this unit 5yrs ago and have been reading about the light bleed issues with this model. My unit has progressively getting worst every week and really disappointing for a 3K+ tv. I've tried all the recommended screen test and other recommendations and problem still exist. I have a Panasonic from 2005 that is still going strong. Hope Samsung takes responsibility for this manufacturing error. I've watched the YouTube video of the dismantling of this tv and it's scary what the overheating has caused the screen to practically melt. I know there isn't much I can do and paying for a repair just isn't worth it. Samsung needs to own up this and help there customers with his issue. I'd like to continue supporting Samsung but I will have to wait and see.
