Hello,

I recently purchased a Samsung - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV, and now that I have had it a few days, I am noticing that the sound pops every couple minutes or so. It makes no difference weather the volume is higher or lower it still pops, but the intensity of the pop does change with the volume. (Quiet pop/crackle when on a lower volume)  is there anyone who could give me advice on what to do, or maybe someone has had the same problem and has solved it?

I have the same problem.  I tried to download whatever manual that you mentioned, but the website keeps asking for my model number.  I got the model number off the TV under "about this TV", but the number that I put in it won't take, it says it's not enough numbers.  I can't get to the model number on the back of the TV because it is mounted and I can't get it down.  I no longer have the box.  Of course the TV didn't come with a manual, only the "e-manual".  Any idea how I can get the information you are referring to?

Sorry to hear you're having problems, it's as frustrating as it can get. I feel your pain. If you still have the receipt for the TV, it might have the serial number on it (maybe the model info also) which you can then trace to the exact model ID. Also, you might be able to find an Owner's Manual PDF for your model on line. I did a general search on google and found a manual for my series model; it might have the info you need.

I'd suggest getting the serial number (hopefully it's on the receipt) and call Samsung; they'll for sure be able to give you the complete model information. Maybe you'll luck out and need version update 1230; I can send you my thumbdrive with the update version that I used for TV. So far, except for a half dozen or so, low sounding pops/crackles, the update seems to have made a difference. Fingers crossed.....

Good luck. Let me know what you find out. Joe

@uservGdl3ayo0g: CanI get the model number you pulled out of the TV settings?

I have a Q7 55" from last year, and I have read through all the suggestions and hypotheses in this forum, including replacing cables, turning Dolby off, updating the software, resetting the unit (a real pain), and on and on. The pops do not occur on our older 65" model.

After a few months the noisy pops went away, and I assumed that it was a problem in the cable feed. I also assumed that perhaps there are signals in the feed which cannot be heard by a human, but which trigger the sound processor in some way. The problem does not seem to occur when watching YouTube or Netflix.

Now, after months, the noisy pops have returned. This is very disappointing. Given all the messages listed here on this problem, Samsung should be able to find the problem and eliminate it.

Couldn't agree more.

Let's hope FW update 1230 is the answer, though one poster says it did not fix his issue.

Just to doublecheck, have you updated your firmware?

5 days now since FW update. So far, so good. Hope it continues.

Any other success stories?

Same problem as all other posts about sound "popping". Tried update to 1230; did not help. Tried several different HDMI cables; did not help. Problem also happens when doing internal sound test. I think the Main Board is over-heating at anything over "Normal" audio levels if on HDR, in bright  room light levels. Will try a cooling fan and see what happens.

I hate to think I'd have to put a radiator on my TV to keep it cool.
