Well done Samsung (and Valve)! After making the xclud app exclusive for your brand and once the abk deal was done for Microsoft it's time to take away the competition, yes the Steam Link app will no longer be available on Samsung TV after November 30th 2023 and will be likely automatically uninstalled from our TVs just to mess with us consumers, better be prepared for antitrust and class actions lawsuits for both the suspicious timing and for taking away an advertised TV feature

EDIT:

In chronological order the steam link app was made by Samsung with a third party dev and collaboration from Valve 2016(+) and was heavily advertised as a Samsung TV feature. Once a deal was made with Microsoft for the xcloud TV exclusive the steam link app was put on support only and not available on models from that year 2022(+) and onwards. After the two years and actively sabotaging the Steam link app with the volume on the right stick thing and forcing the TV OS home menu on the controller home key the app will be now forcebly removed from our TV even if it could work perfectly fine a few days before the abk deal was made... So Microsoft needs gamepass user now and Samsung will help while Valve does not care for us

Thank you for using the Steam Link app on Samsung Smart TVs.

The app will be discontinued on Samsung Smart TVs as the corresponding app plugin will no longer be supported by Samsung.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to bringing you more exciting gaming updates in the near future.

In the meantime you are welcome to screen mirror the mobile application to the television or cast it to the television directly to continue to enjoy your Steam link content. Here's a link to the mobile application in the Play Store where you can download: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Steam+link&c=apps&androidId=105798353288195026430&hl=en&gl=US

This is an absolute shame. The app works flawlessly and no other free work around exists.

hopefully they rethink this. I probably won't be purchasing another Samsung TV, will be looking into something with Google OS on it.

Is a huge shame, for sure they will never see lot of gamer gettin' a samsung TV anymore, that was a very important feature to keep.

Also no compatibility with any other similar app (moonlight, parsec etc.) they lost me.

It is a complete shame! App hadn't been updated for years, just to roll out an update which displayed this message. What would be the harm in keeping the app as is? Samsung, that was bad move tbh! This will likely be my first and last Samsung TV!

It's so disappointing, I was recommending my TV to friends, but I guess not anymore.

Can we disable automatic updates or something to keep this app? Its crazy because it works perfectly on my TV and I use it daily.

Bought this 55inch Samsung specifically for steam link in my gaming room and now they're just removing it? If Samsung had advertised they will remove it after just a few years I would have likely gone with a different brand. I put up with all the ads and intrusive updates but this one hurts.
